Bakwena Property Group is a purpose-driven nonproﬁt dedicated to transforming lives by making quality housing accessible to rural communities across South Africa.Inspired by the Setswana word Bakwena, symbolizing strength and patience of a Crocodile through unity, and heritage.

The organization exists to bridge the housing gap and create lasting opportunities for families to own safe, modern, and digniﬁed homes.At Bakwena Property Group we believe that a home is far more than bricks and mortar. It is a foundation for stability, security, and generational prosperity.

CURRENT PROJECT-MABOLOKA ESTATE

This initiative operates as a stokvel-style housing development scheme in which members make monthly contributions starting from R500 towards the development of a residential estate in a rural area.

The model is based on the collective participation of 100 members, each contributing on a monthly basis. Through pooled resources and structured project implementation, the organisation aims to construct 100 residential homes over a period of approximately four to six years, thereby creating a sustainable and affordable housing community for its members.

Why was the Nonproﬁt Company started

Bakwena Property Group was born from lived experience. The founding members were all raised in rural communities where many families face limited access to quality housing and basic infrastructure.
